#2: Losers Challenge #1 And A Summary of UFC 254

What happens when you poke the bear? And by the bear, I mean Khabib Nurmagomedov, who grew up wrestling bears in MOTHER RUSSIA. "AHMADULLAHH" (I praise Allah) Khabib pronounces at the end of yet another glorious victory settled Saturday afternoon, solidifying the lightweight champion title. In the first round, Justin Gaethje was able to hold his own, landing heavy blows to the aggressively pressing Khabib. However, like the rest of Khabibs past victims, and I mean every single one, he was able to bring Gaethje to the canvas where he outwrestled him, wrapped him like a snake and squeezed his opponent, winning in submission.  After the fight, fans saw a rare occurrence of Khabib expressing his emotions, having just lost his dad, who had passed away during the summer. The proclaimed undefeated UFC fighter made it clear that nothing would stop him from winning this fight, including a broken foot he incurred three weeks ago during training and did not tell anyone till after the fight. You can find footage of Khabib training by swimming against heavy currents in Russias freezing cold water, wrestling bears as a kid, or lifting massive boulders. In short, this man is literally built different. To top things off, Khabib announced that he would be retiring from UFC with his perfect undefeated record at the end of his fight, making the speculation around his retirement over the last few months true. Will this be the last time we hear of this Russian beast? Only time will tell as fighters have a history of building anticipation coming out of retirement for highly paid out fights. Until then, Khabib is and will be considered one of the best champions to ever step in the octagon.  Now onto the good stuff. As we made clear in our last post, every week, two of us will go head to head in a sports event leaving a winner and a loser. This week's punishment is served sweet and sticky with ingredients including Canadian maple syrup, a whole lot of flour, and the Kingston October weather. Dersy and Jbo were up first this week for the fight with Dersy taking Khabib and Jbo taking Gaethje. Luckily for Jbo, the sun was out to say hello on this fine Queen's University afternoon! Unluckily for Jbow, he was on the undercard's side for the fight, which means it's time for him to get sticky. I know it ain't snowing yet, but Jbo is the closest thing to a snowman you will see until it does. RUN JBO RUN…Cheers,Mr Shtew
